Salmon Fishing on the Niagara River
Great Lakes King Salmon are some of the hardest freshwater fish we have. Salmon are stocked in Lake Ontario at a very young age.
Great Lakes King Salmon are some of the hardest freshwater fish we have. Salmon are stocked in Lake Ontario at a very young age. They are released into Niagara River, and other tributaries of Lake Ontario. From there, they will spend roughly three to five years in Lake Ontario until they completely mature, and make their distinctive migratory runs into The Niagara River, and other Lake Ontario Tributaries. Our King Salmon in The Niagara River can range anywhere form ten pounds to over thirty pounds. Most Kings you will find average around fifteen to twenty pounds. Being a fishing guide for them can be rewarding if the fall run is heavy with them.
